Vernon Cops Break Up Tussle Over Tacos — On A Tuesday

A Taco Tuesday altercation in Vernon turned a $5 order into 200 bucks in fines.

VERNON, CT — Taco Tuesday was a little busy for Vernon police this week after an altercation erupted over a supposed erroneous order at a fast food joint.

Police said the brouhaha broke out Tuesday evening. Two women — aged 40 and 28 — were in the parking lot, upset over what they said was the wrong taco order at the Taco Bell restaurant on Route 83, police said.

One of the woman was banging on the door, screaming "Get your ____ together," police said.

It took several minutes to calm her down, police said.

Both women were issued infraction tickets for creating a public disturbance, police said.

The taco order totaled $5.35, and the fine for each disturbance infraction is $103, according to police.
