Vernon Cops: Driver Weaves With Weed, Gets Bagged

VERNON, CT - A Rockville Man was slapped with drug charges after he alerted an officer with erratic driving, according to an arrest report.

At 2:12 a.m. Tuesday, An officer on routine patrol in a marked cruiser saw a gray Subaru Impreza abruptly swerve around another vehicle that had slowed to turn into a business, according to an arrest report.

The driver also appeared to be speeding, police said.

He was identified by police as 24-year-old Kyle Rego of 164 East Main Street in the Rockville section of town. He seemed nervous as an officer approached him for questioning and the car reeked of marijuana, according to an arrest report.

A search of the car produced a bag with about 2.2 grams of pot, police said.

Rego was charged with traveling too fast for conditions, pot possession and possessing drug paraphernalia, according to an arrest report. He is due in court on April 26, police said.
