Vernon Cops Looking For Car In Route 83 Pedestrian Collision

A man was struck by a car and the car left the scene in Vernon Sunday, police said.

VERNON, CT — Police in Vernon are looking for the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian Sunday on Route 83.

The incident took place at 6:29 p.m. at the intersection of Route 83 — known locally as Talcottville Road — and Pitkin Road, police said.

When arriving at the scene, police and firefighters found a 32-year-old man that had been hit by a vehicle. He was transported to Manchester memorial Hospital with minor injuries, police said. He was in the crosswalk and was struck by a dark-colored sedan heading north on Talcottville Road that continued north without stopping, police said.
