Vernon Cops Looking For Grocery Store Bandits
A pair of ladies sped from a Vernon supermarket following a thwarted theft attempt, police said.
VERNON, CT — Vernon police are looking for a pair of would-be bandits who were thwarted from stealing nearly $1,000 worth of stuff from a local supermarket before speeding out of the parking lot.
Police this week released video surveillance of the two from the Stop & Shop at 10 Pitkin Road. The are in plain view with a cart full of merchandise. One seems to be casually talking on the phone.
The woman attempted to steal $957.09 worth of merchandise from Stop & Shop, before they were interrupted by loss prevention and police, authorities said.

They then fled the store and left the parking lot at a high rate of speed in a red Jeep SUV when officers attempted to stop them.
