VERNON, CT — Vernon police have arrested a suspected dealer on narcotics and weapons charges in a notorious motel parking lot.

Details of the May 16 incident were released Wednesday.

At 5:14 p.m. that day, police stopped a vehicle in the lot of the Travelodge at 51 Hartford Turnpike after a reckless driving incident, according to an arrest report. The hotel sits on the Vernon-Manchester line.

Drugs and a doctored gun were then located in the vehicle, an arrest report indicates.

Vernon police arrested 33-year-old Hartford resident Brian Evan Dudley and charged him with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of narcotics with intent to sell
  • Operating a drug factory
  • Criminal possession of a pistol
  • Illegal alteration of a firearm
  • Illegal possession of a weapon on a motor vehicle
  • Reckless driving
  • Driving an unregistered motor vehicle

He was released on a $100,000 bond and is expected in court on May 30.
