Vernon Cops: Man Slams into Another Car With Rental in Domestic Squabble, Leaves Paper Trail When Returning Vehicle

He was also arrested for a second domestic incident.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man was arrested two times in two days for two domestic incidents — one involving a smashed-up rental car traced back to him, police said.

The arrests of Jong Kim, 25, of Vernon, were Aug. 17 and 18 for incidents that took place on June 7 and 23, respectively, Vernon police said.

He is due on court on Sept. 8 and on Aug. 30 for the respective arrests, Vernon police said.

On June 7, Kim was involved on a domestic incident for which he was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace, police said. In addition to assaulting the victim, he was slapped with an extension cord by the victim, according to a warrant.

He is due in Rockville Superior court on Sept. 8 to face those charges, according to judicial system records.

Kim is due in court on Aug. 30 to face evading and interfering charges related to a June 23 incident in which he bumped someone's car from behind and then scraped its driver's side panels while driving a rental car, before fleeing the scene, according to a warrant.

Investigators traced him through the paperwork after he turned in the wrecked rental car, police said.
