Vernon Council Endorses Mayor's Choice For New IT Director
Vernon has a new information technology director.

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Town Council Tuesday unanimously approved Mayor Dan Champagne's appointment of Andrey Seleznev as Vernon's new director of information technology.
Seleznev has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology field and has served as a senior systems engineer in Vernon since January 2022.
"During that time, he has distinguished himself with his knowledge and ability to efficiently and effectively manage a complex network that serves municipal government and the Vernon Public Schools," town officials said.

In October 2023, Seleznev was elevated to interim director of information technology.
In recommending Seleznev to the council, Champagne said that he has "demonstrated the skills and experience necessary to oversee our IT systems and manage a critical town department."

He added, "I have also heard from several individuals across multiple departments who give Andrey high praise for his collaborative leadership style and strong work ethic."
Before arriving in Vernon, Seleznev worked as an IT systems engineer for the American Radio Relay League in Newington, as an IT systems administrator for Goodwin University in East Hartford and as an IT manager for Juniper Homecare in West Hartford.
Before that, he worked for a company that provided IT services to the medical industry.
He is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.
