VERNON, CT — The Vernon Town Council on Tuesday voted to authorize the tax collector to issue motor vehicle tax bills for the current tax year, due and payable on Oct. 1, in a single installment.
That means the last day to pay the bill is Nov. 1. without incurring late charges.
Those not receiving a bill for car taxes can call town hall at 860-870-3599.

Payments will be accepted at the Tax Office, 8 Park Place. Office hours are Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to
1:00 p.m.
Tax payments may also be mailed to P.O. Box 387, Vernon CT or paid online at www.vernon-ct.gov.

Town officials also extended an "apology to our citizens for any confusion or hardship caused by the State’s inability to pass a budget."
