Vernon Couple Charged After 12-Year-Old Gets Punched: Cops

A domestic incident over a cell phone led to a 12-year-old getting punched, police said.

VERNON, CT — A fight over a cell phone led to a 12-year-old getting punched and two adults facing charges, police said.

The incident took place at 6:38 p.m. Monday at 20 East Main St., according to a police report. During the fight a woman had hit a man several times and the man, in turn, slammed her to the floor, according to a report.

The 12-year-old was punched by the man while trying to intervene, police said.

Matthew Pelletier, 24 and Allyson Nielsen, 21 were both charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, police said.
