The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Pandemic Recovery. Vernon has been very fortunate to receive over 2.89 million noneducational and 4.42 million educational in the most recent Federal Stimulus package. I would like to see this money used for healing and growth. I have and will continue to support a committee of citizens and staff and at least two town council members (D&R).

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

I have over 40 years experience with municipal government and it's departments. Some of the departments that I have worked in or have knowledge of - Public Works, Assessment, Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Administration, Fire Department, EMS, Fire Marshal, and Engineering and Building Department. I have knowledge of negotiations "to find a way over or through an obstacle or difficult path".

Accomplishments:

One was an audit for Vernon of over 1 million for the Assessor and in the Eighth District I collected over 122% for the Tax Department for the year. But the most recent is being elected in November 2019 and by March 2020 being instructed of the COVID 19 Pandemic. This is when we worked through our Town Council and Budget meetings on the phone. What an experience and teaching moment. I am proud of what we accomplished and look forward to finishing the recovery process if re-elected.

Other issues:

Protecting the Right to Vote Honor and Protect Our Seniors Support Our Students and Teachers Protecting Our Open Spaces and Parks and Natural Resources Keep Taxes Low Promote Economic Development in the many Vacant Store Fronts

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I'm one who budgets, an analyst, a researcher, a planner and someone who weighs the pros and cons of a purchase or a project. There is not one issue more important than the other. Yet some maybe more urgent or timely than others. What I would like to see in the future and have proposed in the past are committees that would include Town Council members from both parties, Administration, and staff and the citizens. Transparency ensures that everyone gets on the same page. Common Sense Means Good Government.
