The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Improving the reputation of our schools. Many great things are happening in our schools and and they should draw more people to the Vernon community. I intend to continue my advocacy for the district and pledge to keep pushing for equity in our schools in order to provide the best education for all of our students.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I am a parent of 2 Vernon Public School students, local youth sports coach, and and a high school social studies teacher. Those perspectives offer critical input to the overall process of administering a school district.
Accomplishments:
Having served 2 terms on the Board, I am proud of my record of working in bipartisan fashion to make education more equitable in the Vernon Public Schools. In addition to advocating for our students and teachers, and I am proud to have played a key role in developing the district’s equity stance which was approved in the fall of 2020.
Other issues:
Making sure that Vernon Public Schools are budgeting responsibly and providing equitable resources across all of our schools in order to provide the best possible outcomes for all of our students.
