Vernon Fire Officials Warning of Phone Scam

Fake EMS "bill collectors" have been calling Vernon residents, fire officials said.

VERNON, CT — Vernon Fire Department officials are warning the public about a scam circulating this month.

Department officials said callers are claiming they are representatives from the VFD's EMS Division and they are attempting to collect personal information and payment information via the phone.

"This is fraudulent criminal activity," fire officials said. "Please hang up and contact the Vernon Police Dept 860-872-9126 to file a report if necessary."
