VERNON, CT — A truck burst into flames over the weekend on a stretch of highway in Vernon, fire officials said.

The fire broke out on Saturday, just before 6pm and before the snow started falling.

Vernon fire crews and Connecticut State Police were dispatched to I-84 westbound just after the exit 67 on-ramp for reports of a tractor-trailer fire. Firefighters encountered the cab of the truck "fully involved," with fire spreading to the brush along the side of the highway, officials said.
