​The Vernon Historical Society Needs Donations For Popular Book Sale

It's almost time for the 2023 Vernon Historical Society annual book sale.

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Historical Society is taking donations of new and used books for its annual book sale.

The book sale has been a popular event in town for years and is a major fundraiser for the society. It is to take place at the end of April.

In addition to books, also needed are Blue Ray DVDs, DVDs, CDs, and Books on CDs.

Society officials said they cannot take in encyclopedias, dictionaries, VCR tapes, records, or cassette tapes.

Books must be in clean, odor-free, and in "sellable" condition.

Items can be dropped off at the Vernon Historical Society, 734 Hartford Turnpike (Route 30), Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon and from 3 to 5 p.m.

Additional donation dates are: Sundays — March 12 and March 26 — from 2 to 4 p.m.

Volunteers will be available to unload vehicles and bring in items.
