Vernon Looking For Crossing Guards

VERNON, CT — The town of Vernon is looking for crossing guards.

Applications are available at the Vernon Police Department, which oversees the crossing guard program.

Candidates must be at least 18 and will be subject to background checks.

Qulifications include:

• No formal education or experience
• Must speak and understand English
• Must be able to give instructions to others
• Good physical health
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Use of both hands and arms
• Good vision and hearing
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Must be able to work any day school is in session
