Vernon Lucky Taco Abruptly Closes Tuesday Night

VERNON, CT — Less than a month after closing on Main Street in Manchester, Lucky Taco in Vernon is now closed.

A short, to-the-point announcement on social media at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday shared the news.

It read, "The staff and I would like to thank you for all of your support over these last few, very difficult years. It's with a heavy heart we announce our permanent closing. We are sorry for not giving more notice, but we really didn't have any either. Be nice to each other and maybe we will see you again further down the road. Until then, be happy and kind."

David and Erin Emmons first announced they were moving into Vernon in November at the old Nature's Grocer location at the plaza at 81 East St., also at the intersection of routes 30 and 31.

Comments began pouring in to the Lucky Taco Facebook page, most of which wished them well.

In mid-March, the Lucky Taco on Main Street in Manchester closed.

The announcement then said, "This decision was made after long and careful consideration of where we've come and where we are going," the owners said. "The burden of running this small business in the aftermath of COVID proved too much for us to bear. The amazing staff was very much involved in this decision and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for the love, care, and kindness they put in to every shift they worked."

David and Erin Emmons vowed to give the Vernon location a try, but then abruptly closed Tuesday night.
