Vernon Man Arrested Twice in One Day
A Vernon man was in two altercations within hours of each other, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man was arrested twice withing a few hours on Wednesday after a pair of scuffles, an arrest report indicates.
Timothy Caruthers, 31, of 104 West Main St., was taken into custody at 3:15 p.m. after getting into an altercation with a neighbor with whom he historically did not get along with, police said.
He threw a lighter at the neighbor and hit the neighbor in the head, police said. He was charged with second-degree breach of peace, police said.

At 10:55 p.m., Caruthers was involved in another alternation on Union Street, police said, and was charged with second-degree breach of peace for that.
