Vernon Man Charged With Child Porn Crimes

A Vernon man was arrested on Wednesday following a long investigation, state police said.

VERNON, CT – A Vernon man has been charged with crimes related to child pornography after a nearly year-long investigation, state police said.

State and Vernon police arrested 47-year-old Kevin Ghostlaw in a driveway near his Vernon Avenue residence on Wednesday, according to an arrest report. He was charged with first-degree possession of child porn and promoting a minor in an obscene performance, according to an arrest warrant.

He appeared in Rockville Superior Court shortly after his arrest and his case was transferred to the Part A docket, reserved for the most serious of crimes, a clerk at the court said. He is due back on Jan. 13, a clerk said. He is currently being held on a $125,000 bond, according to court records.

According to an arrest warrant, state police began investigating him last January.

Vernon police said they assisted on a state police search a month later. State police said that was on Feb. 23 at Ghostlaw's residence at 142 Vernon Ave.

State police said in building a case against Ghostlaw porn videos were found on a computer featuring young children.

In one video of more than 8 minutes in duration, a 6-year-old and 9-year-old are featured in lewd positions, according to an arrest warrant.

In a video with an elapsed time of 2:13, a girl between 7 and 9 years old is featured in a sex act, according to an arrest warrant.
