Vernon Man Facing 60-Plus Protective Order Violations: Police
A man is facing multiple counts of violating court orders, Vernon police said.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man is facing 66 counts of violating a protective order after he was caught sleeping at a local residence he was barred from, police said. He also violated a restraining order twice, police said.
A total of 64 counts were issued on one outstanding warrant, according to police records. William Hawley, 32, was also charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of risk of injury to a child, along with two more protective order violations and a pair of restraining order violations on another warrant, according to police.
Hawley was picked up by police Tuesday night after he was found intoxicated and on the ground in front of the Pizza Palace restaurant in the Rockville section of Vernon, according to an arrest report.

Hawley has been sleeping in the basement of a Prospect Street home that a judge had told him to keep away from, police said. In doing so, he was not only violating the protective and restraining orders, but technically breaking into the home, police said.
Hawley appeared in Rockville Superior Court Tuesday and failed to post the $25,000 bonds assigned to each warrant, judicial system records indicate. He is slated to return to court Aug. 30.
