VERNON, CT — A Vernon man is facing three criminal charges after a golf club attack early Monday morning, police said.

At 12:59 a.m. Monday officers responded to an altercation at a home on Laurel Street. A resident of the home told police two neighbors upstairs were fighting. Ryan Callahan 31, is accused of hitting his roommate, "repeatedly" with a golf club, according to a report.

A police report later described the club as a 7-iron.

Callahan was charged with second-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon and second-degree breach of peace.

He was held for the duration of the overnight period on a $50,000 bond and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court Monday, police said.
