Barbara Benson, born on August 3, 1938 in Hartford, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Bulkeley High School. Barbara raised her four sons on Oxbow Drive in Vernon, where her doors were never locked. Barbara’s home (and refrigerator) was always open to her sons’ friends. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than her boys, Artie, Bruce, Reno and Brian, who were her pride and joy.
Besides being a full time mom, Barbara worked outside the home as well, at Contromatics, Willie’s Steak House and Barb’s Deli. After moving to Florida, Barb worked at H&R Block until her most recent illness when she returned to Connecticut.
