
Brian E. Andresen, 77, of Vernon, beloved longtime companion of Joanne (Burke) Wright and cherished father of Elizabeth, Carol and Jonathan passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Hartford Hospital with his family at his side.
He was born in Hartford and was the son of the late Everett and Ruth (Alexander) Andresen. He grew up in East Hartford before moving to Vernon over 41 years ago. He was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1958.
Brian was employed by the former Cushman Industries for many years and retired from the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation. After retirement he enjoyed teaching children to drive. He was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church and a friend of “Bill W” for 43 years.

Brian enjoyed skiing in Vermont and spending summers in Cape Cod for many years with his children. He had a lifelong love of boating and fishing, and taking trips to Block Island and Newport, Rhode Island. He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots, and UConn women’s basketball fan.
Brian felt that his greatest achievement was raising three wonderful children and they along with his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his longtime companion Joanne, daughters, Elizabeth and her children, Matthew and Michael, Carol and her husband Dominic, and their children, Wyatt and Emily, and son Jonathan and his wife Beth and their children, Kaylin, Andrew, and Isabella. He is also survived by his two sisters, Elaine Andresen and Linda Couture and many friends.
His family would like to thank Drs. Mario Katigbak and David Curtis, along with the entire Hartford Hospital staff, especially on Bliss 9 Step Down and Center 8 ICU for their outstanding compassionate care, friendship and support they provided to Brian as well as his family over the past four months.
His family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Rockville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Cancer Society, CT Chapter, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
