
Cynthia A. “Cindy” (Seekins) Nicewicz, 78, of Vernon, loving wife of 58 years to Lawrence Nicewicz, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Born in Skowhegan, Maine, the daughter of Merle and Glenys (Stevens) Seekins, she grew up and lived in Skowhegan, Maine, and Tolland before moving to Vernon over 34 years ago. Prior to her retirement in 2001, Cindy was employed at Tek Industries in Vernon as an electronics technician. She previously was employed at Tyco Electronics in Stafford Springs, and Multi-Circuits, Inc. in Manchester.
She was a longtime volunteer at the KidSafe Connecticut Car Show in Vernon, and she participated in Tri Town Cruzers events. She enjoyed being with family and friends at the auto racing track, car shows, camping and spending time on the boat in Mystic.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who liked to spend time with her family and friends, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her great granddaughter Zoey.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved children, Robin Nicewicz of Stafford Springs, and Cheryl Nicewicz of Ellington; her grandson, Ryan Nicewicz and his wife Cassie of Tolland; her great granddaughter, Zoey; a special nephew, Kevin Albano of Amston; her siblings, Merline Lawrence and her husband George of SC, Janette Hebert and her husband Richard of SC, Douglas Seekins and his wife Brenda of Tolland, and Mary Cella of Manchester, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Viola Phillips, and Gloria Seekins.

Her family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at the Infusion Center, Hartford Hospital, and Dana Farber.
Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 4 - 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 21st, from 10 to11 a.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Broad Brook.
