
Edward “Fletch” Shaw, 78, of Vernon, loving husband of 51 years to Louise (Piscottano) Shaw, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2017.
Born in McComb, Mississippi, the son of the late George and Frances (Klingman) Shaw, he grew up and lived in McComb, MS and Middletown before moving to Vernon fifty years ago. He was a graduate of McComb High School, Class of 1956 where he enjoyed playing football, and he earned his associate’s degree from Louisiana State University.
Fletch liked all sports and was an avid New York Yankees, New York Giants, and LSU fan. Prior to his retirement in 2006, he was in sales for different industries for most of his life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children, Michael Shaw and his partner Jose Medinas Torres of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Stephen Shaw of Vernon, George Shaw and his wife Jennifer of Tolland, Jason Shaw and his wife Jill of Whitman, MA; three grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, and Lily Shaw; two brothers, David Shaw and his wife Daphne of Jackson, MS, and George Shaw and his wife DeEtte of Marietta, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends for calling hours on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 33 West Street, Rockville. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
