Condolences to her family and friends.

Elizabeth (Cormier) Leathe of Broad Brook, wife of the late Douglas S. Leathe, died on March 22, 2016.

She was born in Somers on April 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Theophille and Hermance (Landry) Cormier. Elizabeth graduated from Rockville High School in 1945. She worked at Bigelow Sanford Carpet Mill in the payroll department where she met her husband and married in 1948. Elizabeth was elected to Somers Town Treasurer that year where she worked until she retired in 1992. Elizabeth was an accomplished organist. And she loved her Boston Red Sox.

Elizabeth is survived by her loving son and daughter, Sherman (Maryellen) Leathe of Simsbury, and Donna (Dede) Leathe, who lived with and cared for her Mom. She leaves two loving grandsons Nicholas Leathe of Albuquerque, NM and Christopher Leathe of Simsbury. She also leaves a sister Antoinette Schlaefer of Tucson, AZ, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Theresa Kominski and Alvina Burgess.
