Vernon Obituary: Eugene Swan, 50

Condolences to his family and friends.

Eugene “Gene” Swan, 50, of Vernon, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away while working on Thursday, June 23, 2016.

Gene was born May 26, 1966 in Hartford to John and Lillian Swan. At the time of his passing, Gene was a self-employed, hardworking contractor and worked exclusively with Bernie’s Roofing and then later SM Welch Roofing. Gene worked with and for the Welch family for over 30 years and alongside his brother Raymond for a number of those years.

In July 1984 Gene met the love of his life of 32 years, Brenda Swan. They became high school sweethearts and were married on March 11, 1990. Gene and Brenda have three beautiful daughters, which Gene selflessly worked to provide for and to see they were taken care of. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Gene would often place the needs of his family above his own in order to provide for them. Gene’s dedication to his family, his hard work ethic, and his sense of humor will be greatly missed.
