Vernon Obituary: Joseph Dagenais, 67

Condolences to his family and friends.

Joseph Lindor "Joe" Dagenais, 67, of Little River, SC, and formerly of Broad Brook and Vernon, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, at his home in Little River, SC after a brief battle with cancer.

Joe was born in Hartford, on January 1, 1949, the son of the late Joe and Marie Dagenais. He graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1967 and then served in Vietnam for the US Army. Upon returning home, he worked as a Hartford Fireman for over 25 years. After retiring from the Hartford Fire Department, Joe continued to work several more years for the Hartford Office Supply Company. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, working in the yard, and doing projects around the house.

Joe is survived by his wife Barbara of Little River, his sons and their wives, Grady and Jamie, TJ and Becky, and his grandchildren, Jaden, Grace, Alaina, Garrett, Lacey and Corinne. He is also survived by his sister, Debra Dagenais, and his brother, Donald Dagenais. He was predeceased by his brother, Brian Dagenais.

His family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, and on Friday, April 15th from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
