Vernon Obituary: Mary Kellner, 90

Mary D. Kellner, 90, of Ellington, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2018. She was the devoted wife of the late William C Kellner for 53 years, until he passed in 2004.

She leaves four children, Kathryn and Scott Neff, C Stephen and Mary, Kevin and Deborah, and Kenneth and Nancy. Also ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mafalda Simmons and her husband Robert of Middletown, and Antoinette Uzzo in Maryland.

Mary graduated from UConn in 1949 and married in 1950. She and Bill opened “Kellner’s Window Decorators” in Vernon in 1955 and passed it on to the family in the nineties.

Calling hours will be from 9-10AM on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Burke-Fortin Funeral Home. 76 Prospect St. in Vernon, followed by a mass of Christian burial at St Luke’s in Ellington and then at Grove Hill cemetery in Vernon.
