Vernon Obituary: Pier Poletto, 75

Pier Giorgio "George" Poletto died peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

He was born in Torino, Italy on April 13, 1943. He immigrated to the United States in 1961 and lived in Hartford for many years, becoming a barber by profession. George was a gentle soul by nature and had a special love for animals, owning several rescued cats and dogs in his lifetime.

He leaves his sister Rita Poletto Moriarty, of South Windsor and his beloved niece Elizabeth Moriarty, of Watertown. He was predeceased by his father Antonio, his mother Ninetta and by several aunts and uncles.

His family thanks the staff at Fox Hill Nursing Home in Vernon and St. Francis Hospital for their dedicated care.

Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, April 30th, in the Shrine of the Apostles section in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. There will be no calling hours.
