Vernon Obituary: Rita Hart, 77

Condolences to her family and friends.

Rita L. (Raymond) Hart, 77, of Vernon, beloved wife of John P. Hart, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Kimberly Hall surrounded by her family.

She was born November 12, 1940, in Goffstown, NH; daughter of the late Joseph and Annette (Lappas) Raymond. Rita moved to Hartford when she was nine years old and spent most of her adult life in East Hartford before moving to Vernon where she spent the last eighteen years. She was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor.

Rita was a strong woman who overcame many obstacles throughout her life. Rita enjoyed travelling and going to the casino especially Mohegan Sun. She enjoyed watching the Lady Huskies and was an avid supporter of the South Widnsor Lady Bobcats Basketball Teams. She loved her grandchildren and family was most important in her life.

In addition to her husband John to whom she was married for 23 years, she is survived by two sons, Donald J. Leclerc III and his wife Stacey of South Windsor and Richard D. Leclerc and his wife Claudia of TN; five grandchildren, Adam, Brandon, and Jeremy Leclerc, Brittany Leclerc Sandroni and Kelly Miller; six great-grandchildren, Donovan, Halo, Jayda, Isiah, Aiden, and Jamison; three brothers, Joseph Raymond, Jr. and his wife Toi of Canton, Robert Raymond of Hartford and Donald Raymond of East Windsor and two sisters, Joan O’Rourke of East Windsor and Lillian Semanski of FL. She was predeceased by a sister, Carol Raymond.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, May 10, 2018, 11 a.m., for a funeral service at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Hartford. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Rita’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
