
Sandra Hubbard, 77 of Vernon, beloved wife of Robert H. Hubbard III, passed away at the home of her sister in Storrs surrounded by loved ones.
Sandra was born in Albany, NY on March 25, 1939, daughter of the late Clayton and Jean (Shamback) Seymour and had been a resident of Vernon since 1977. Prior to retiring as cafeteria manager, she worked for the Vernon Board of Education, at Lake Street School for 8 years. Sandra was a longtime active member of The Salvation Army, Manchester and during the summers, managed and operated the kitchen at the Salvation Army Camp Connri in Ashford. She enjoyed her times going on day trips with her sister and friends, working on crafts, baking, playing bingo, and before she became ill, bowling. She was also a practical joker.
In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by a son, Robert H. Hubbard IV of Vernon, a daughter, Christine McCarthy and her husband, Thomas of Vernon, a grandson, Robert H. Hubbard V, a sister, Rita Hadden of Storrs, numerous nieces, nephews and their families including, Darin Hanna and his wife, Pamela and their three sons, Zachary of Cove City, NC, Tyler of Stafford Springs, and Corey of Tolland; Raymond Hanna and his partner, Renee Duva of Broad Brook, Lynette and her husband, Steve Mungo, their daughter Heather and husband, Randall Cole; Valerie and husband Tony Caprio, their daughter, Kali and sons, Leland and Justin. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister Marilyn Stanford.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10 am at East Cemetery, 240 East Center Street Manchester, (Westminster Section K-2). Family and friends may call Thursday, May 12 from 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 6:15 pm at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester.
