Vernon Obituary: Suzanne Blaisdell, 60

Condolences to her family and friends.

Suzanne Marie Blaisdell (Sue, Susie), 60 of Vernon, died peacefully on November 21, 2017 at Manchester Hospital ICU, after a courageous five-year battle with COPD Lung Disease, with her lifelong best friend Darlene Mercure by her side.

She was born on February 6, 1957 in Hartford, daughter of the late Robert Blaisdell Sr., and Doris (Henson) Blaisdell. Sue grew up in South Windsor and had lived in Manchester and Vernon. She had worked at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford for 18 years and at Mt. Vernon Apartments in Vernon for 8 years until her medical retirement. Sue loved life, New England beaches and most importantly her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, grandparents, and her three brothers, Robert (Bobby) Jr., Tommy Sr., and Randy Blaisdell. She leaves her former sister-in-law, Jackie Kerr of Colchester, and her two cherished nephews, Tommy Blaisdell Jr., and Bobby Blaisdell both of Colchester. She also leaves her longtime friends Vickie Sendra, and Gail Gagnon both of Vernon; her good friend, neighbor, and caregiver over the last years, Joanie Secor and here uncle, Mark Boure both of Vernon. She will be deeply missed by her closest and dearest friend of 48 years, and the last 5 years as her caregiver, Darlene Mercure of Windsor Locks.

Her family wishes to send a special thank you to her doctors, Dr. Binayak Koirala, Dr. Sun Kin Wan, and Dr. Karen Halason for their compassionate care of Sue.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 11 a.m., at St. Bernard Cemetery, Kingsbury Ave., Rockville.
