Vernon Obituary: William Maloney, 86

William (Bill) Maloney, 86, of Vernon, died peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2016.

Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 4, 1930 and was the son of the late William Edgar Maloney and Bertha (Kwasniewski) Maloney, and was predeceased by his brother, Thomas P. Maloney.

Bill served for over 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring from active duty in 1969 while stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.

He has been a resident of Vernon since 1992 and is survived by his two children; Glen W. Maloney and his wife Susan of Coventry, and Gail (Maloney) St. Laurent and her husband Raymond of Brimfield, MA. Bill is also survived by five grandchildren; Amy Gibbons McKay, Joseph Gibbons, Lucas Maloney, Andrea Maloney, Daniel Maloney and also six great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Vernon Manor, A Caring Hand, The Visiting Nurse Association and Rockville Hospital for their great care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s honor to the Disabled American Veterans, 35 Cold Springs Rd, Suite 315, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.

Services and Burial, with full military honors will be private at the convenience of the family.
