Vernon Officials: Hoops Can Be Blocking Fouls This Winter

VERNON, CT — Municipal officials in Vernon Tuesday sent out an advisory to residents in an effort to prevent their basketball hoops from becoming slam dunks this plowing season.

Residents are responsible for basketball hoops and stanchions placed on town property, either at the edge of the road or on a cul-de-sac, officials said.

Basketball hoops or poles damaged by town vehicles, especially during removal of refuse, recycling, snow, slush, etc. will not be repaired or replaced, officials said.

The equipment items should be placed on private property.
