Vernon Operating 3 Supervised Public Swimming Areas This Summer

VERNON, CT — Vernon's summertime public swimming season is set to begin on June 29 with a special safety program for young people offered two days prior.

The three swimming areas that will have lifeguard service are:

  • Newhoca Park (Bolton Lake)
  • The Community Pool, 375 Hartford Turnpike
  • Horowitz Pool, Henry Park

All three venues will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, parks and recreation officials said.

Admission is cash only and attendants cannot accept bills larger than $20. Daily facility admission is paid on-site upon arrival. Ages 12 and younger are $3 and ages 13 and up is $5. A family day pass (four total people living within the same house) is $10.

Family season passes are $120 for two adults and two children, or one adult and three children. If there are additional children in the home, individual family season passes may be added for $15 per child.

On June 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the lifeguard crew will be hosting a special safety event for young people at the Horowitz pool. Admission is $10.

Valley Falls Pond will not have lifeguards.
