Vernon Parking Area Incident Leads To Drugs, Weapons Charges
A teen is facing weapons and drug charges after an incident on Sunday at a rail trail parking area.

VERNON, CT — A teen is facing weapons and drug charges after an incident on Sunday at a rail trail parking area.
The incident took place at 12:33 p.m. An officer on patrol near Maple and Phoenix streets saw a car parked next to the rail trail with a bicycle laying on its side next to it, according to a report. The parking area was closed, per town ordinance, police said.
Police said as the officer approached the vehicle, he could smell marijuana.

A 15-year-old passenger then claimed ownership of the bike.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Cody Webster, of Glastonbury, had a knife and marijuana on his lap and a BB pistol in the vehicle, according to a report. Webster was charged with driving under the influence, the use of drug paraphernalia, illegally possessing a weapon in a motor vehicle and risk of injury to a child.
