Vernon Patch Letter: VFD Delivers 300 Toys For The Holidays

VERNON, CT — A letter to the editor:

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The Vernon Volunteer Firefighters were able to deliver new toys to 300 children on Monday,
December 19th. Since 1953 the program has grown from firefighters fixing and painting used
toys for a limited number of recipients, to what it is today — 100 percent new toys to hundreds of
children.

Thank you to those who supported our efforts financially, collected toys on our behalf, held local toy collection drives, or just dropped a toy at one of our many locations.

It was an amazing year! We couldn’t do it without your support and are grateful that you make
us a success. Wishing you a safe and happy 2023!
