Vernon Pays Tribute To A Founding Firefighter
A pioneering firefighter in Vernon is honored each year.

VERNON, CT — Members of the Vernon Fire Department last week were joined by U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney and Deputy Mayor Brian Motola as they placed American flags at the graves of firefighters who are buried at Grove Hill Cemetery.
They also stopped at the grave of Crosley Fitton, a Rockville pharmacist who founded the Fitton Hose Co. in Rockville.
Each year the firefighters honor Fitton by visiting his grave.
