Vernon Pharmacy Employee Accused Of Stealing Opiates
A pharmacy employee is asccused of stealing drugs from the store, police said.

VERNON, CT — An employee of a Vernon pharmacy is accused of stealing 71 prescription opiate pills, a police report indicates.
On Feb. 8, Vernon police responded to a larceny complaint filed by the Medicine Shoppe, 79 East St. An investigation revealed that an employee, later identified as Kristen Freethy, 34, of Tolland, was taking the pills, according to an arrest report.
She admitted to stealing one pill, but the complaint mentioned 71 pills being stolen over several months, according to a report.

According to a report, Freethy was charged with sixth-degree larceny for the alleged thefts and with possessing drugs near a school because Northeast School is just down the road from the pharmacy.

She is due in court on Feb. 19, police said.
