She is now facing two criminal charges.

VERNON, CT - An angry woman threw a bleach solution at a group of children playing kickball on Saturday, Vernon police said.

Monique Stevie Mitchell, 27, of 166 Terrace Drive, Vernon, was charged with risk of injury to a child and second-degree breach of peace after the incident, police said. She was to appear in Rockville Superior Court Monday, according to law enforcement records.

Police were called to the residence at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report. The caller said an irate woman threw a bleach-and-water mixture on a group of children. The caller told police that children were playing kickball outside Mitchell's apartment.

Mitchell told police she was cleaning her porch after a popsicle had spilled to the ground, according to an arrest report. She also told police she did not initially ask the kids to leave because "she assumed they wouldn't listen to her," according to an arrest report.

The children were not injured, but their clothes were splashed with the bleach mix, police said.
