Vernon Police Charge 49-Year-Old In Child Sex Case

Vernon police have charged a 49-year-old man with multiple crimes related to sexual assault with a child.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police have charged a 49-year-old man with multiple crimes related to sexual assault with a child, an arrest report incidates.

Ronald Lee Daniel, 49, of Hartford, was taken into custody on Monday afternoon, police said. He was booked on a $750,000 bond and held overnight, according to a report. He was to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Tuesday, a clerk at the courthouse said.

The warrant was quickly sealed by the court after his booking, police said.

Vernon police said they could not comment on the case, other than to say they have been working with state and federal authorities.

  • 4 counts of aggravated sexual assault with a victim younger than 13
  • 4 counts of illegal sexual contact with a minor
  • 3 counts of third-degree sexual assault
  • Risk of injury to a child
  • 2 counts of first-degree unlawful restraint
  • 2 counts of second-degree threatening
  • Third-degree assault
