Vernon Police Charge 70-year-old With Multiple Sex Crimes Involving Minors

He is in custody on bonds that total $750,000.

VERNON, CT — A 70-year-old Vernon resident is facing charges involving multiple alleged sexual assaults of children, Vernon police said on Monday.

David Brown, 70, of Stonewood Terrace, was arrested on Oct. 26, five days after two separate warrants were issued, police said. He appeared on Rockville Superior Court that day and is due back in Dec. 9, judicial system records indicate.

Brown is currently in custody on two bonds totaling $750,000, court records indicate.

On one warrant, he is charged with 11 counts of first-degree sexual assault, 14 counts of illegal sexual contact, three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

The second warrant charges Brown with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, two counts of fourth degree sexual assault and four counts of illegal sexual contact.
Victims were both teenage girls and one boy who was "significantly developmentally disabled," according to the warrant."

The warrant quotes Brown as apologetic after saying the only help for himself might be jail.

One of the female victims called him "sick" in a police interview, according to one warrant.

The alleged assaults took place from the 1980s up to recent years, according to the warrants.
