Vernon Police Department To Conduct Police Officer Testing

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Police Department will conduct a testing process Sept. 26 for people interested in becoming police officers and serving the Vernon community.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have completed the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association written examination with a passing score of 70 or higher.

The testing process will include a physical agility test based on the Police Physical Ability Assessment for applicants who do not currently hold a CHIP card, an oral examination, an initial background screening and an interview with the police chief.

The testing will begin at Rockville High School, with the remaining portions of the process taking place at the Vernon Police Department.
