Vernon Police Get Graphic About School Bus Safety
Vernon police have made it perfectly clear about when to stop for school buses.

VERNON, CT — With two major roads in town with miles of multiple lanes, things can get confusing in Vernon over when and when not to stop for a school bus with deployed red flashing lights.
Vernon police this week took care of that with a detailed graphic. It pays particular attention to the situations on routes 30 and 83, where there are two lanes of travel, plus turns lanes and in some instances, dividers.
"The 2024 school year has begun (actually on Thursday), which means we will be seeing school buses coming and going in the mornings and afternoons," police said. "We would like to remind drivers about the importance of stopping for school buses and driving safely in school zones."
