Vernon Police ID Those Involved In Fatal Route 30 Crash
Police on Tuesday morning officially identified those involved in a fatal crash in Vernon on Monday.

VERNON, CT — Police on Tuesday morning officially identified those involved in a fatal crash between a car and box truck on Route 30 early Monday morning.
Marcellus Davis, 22, of Vernon was killed in the crash, police said. He was driving a BMW sedan and was just a short distance from his home, police said. He was a popular staff member of the Route 30 Cumberland Farms, friends said.
The truck driver was identified as Victor Zetterstrom, 61, of Rocky Hill. Police did not have an update on his condition early Tuesday. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center after the incident with serious injuries, according to police.

No charges have been filed.
The crash took place at about 3 a.m. Monday, Vernon police said. The road re-opened at about 7 a.m.

Both the BMW and the commercial box truck appeared to have been traveling on Route 30.
Vernon police crash reconstructionists are investigating with assistance from the Metro Traffic Services Reconstruction Team. Anyone with information or any witnesses are asked to contact Vernon Police 860-872-9126.
