Vernon Police Investigating Tire Slashing Incidents

VERNON, CT — Vernon police are investigating a Saturday morning spree of tire slashings.

The incidents took place sometime after 5 a.m., police said. The tires on eight different vehicles on Brooklyn Street were punctured by a sharp object, according to police. A total of 14 tires were damaged, with the losses totaling thousands of dollars, police said.

The vehicle owners were both essential employees needing to work, and others who have to stay home during the coronavirus scare, police said.
