Vernon Police Kick off Seat Belt Enforcement Campaign

Local police have begun an extensive seat belt enforcement campaign.

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Police Department will be conducting Click it or Ticket enforcement checkpoints and roving patrols between Tuesday and June 3 as part of the statewide Click-it-or-Ticket initiative.

The extra patrols consist of officers from Metro Traffic Services, a regional police unit, and are funded through State and Federal highway safety grants.

In addition to the safety belt checkpoints, officers are patrolling in marked and unmarked vehicles and will be issuing fines of $92 to anyone found in violation of the seat belt laws.
