Vernon Police Looking For Missing Man Who Was Walking His Dog

VERNON, CT — Vernon Police are searching for a local man who went missing after going out to walk his dog.

Nashawn Harvey, 43, of 84 Phoenix St., Vernon, was reported missing on Sunday and was last seen walking in the area of Phoenix Street and Maple Avenue on Friday at about 7:45 pm.

It was reported to police that Harvey had gone out to walk his dog. The dog later returned home without Harvey, police said.

He is believed to be endangered, police said.

Harvey is being described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds. He is bald with a brown goatee, police said. He was last seen wearing a red hoodie, black Dickies pants, black sneakers and a black knit hat, police said.

Police said they are also looking to speak to residents in the neighborhood who have home surveillance systems that may have captured an image of Harvey.
