Vernon Police Looking For Witnesses To Saturday Car-Pedestrian Crash
A pedestrian and car collided on Hyde Avenue in Vernon Saturday.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police are looking for witnesses as they continue to investigate a weekend collision between a car and pedestrian that left the man with a serious leg injury.
The crash took place at 4:44 p.m. Saturday in the area of Hyde Avenue and South Grove Street.
When officers arrived, the located an "adult male" in the road with a leg injury. He appeared to have been hit by a white BMW 3 Series that was traveling west on Hyde Avenue as he was crossing Hyde Avenue, according to a preliminary report.

The driver of the BMW stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation, police said. The driver of the BMW was not injured in the crash but the pedestrian was transported by Vernon EMS to Hartford Hospital with what was described Tuesday as a serious leg injury, police said. The man was in critical but stable condition Saturday.
No charges had ben filed as of Tuesday.
