Vernon Police: Man Charged for Choking his Mother

The man was the "aggressor" in a dispute between the two, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man is accused of attacking his mother and choking her, according to a police report.

Early Friday morning, a woman arrived at Vernon police headquarters and claimed her son had just choked her, according to an arrest report. Police said they determined that Dustin Mullen, 25, of Progress Avenue in Vernon, was the "aggressor" in a dispute between the two.

Police then went to Mullen's residence and took him into custody at 3:19 a.m., according to an arrest report.

Mullen was charged with third-degree strangulation, first-degree unlawful restraint and second-degree breach of peace, according to an arrest report.

He was held for the rest of the morning on a $10,000 bond and was to appear in Rockvile Superior Court on Friday, according to an arrest report.
